Erdem’s Spring 2021 collection is giving me major 'regencycore' vibes

Erdem’s Spring 2021 collection is feeding into my ‘regencycore’ aesthetic, and boy am I here for it! The secret garden-esque show once again established Erdem’s signature aesthetic of combining the historical and the contemporary. Featuring Grecian prints, floor-length gowns of the dreamlike 18th century aesthetic with today’s comfort, Moralıoglu presents to you his latest collection.

Inspired by Susan Sontag’s book, the Volcano Lover, the collection is a reflection of the story. From the Grecian prints, William Hamilton is obsessed with, to Emma Hamilton’s signature white scarf. One can find traces of literature peppered across various pieces in the collection.

The show was staged at Gibber Garden in Essex amongst nature and was shot with a drone. There was no audience, and the cinematography alongside the background score of the show definitely transports me to my dark academia renaissance Pinterest board.
